Wall lamp from flexible wood
Our CNC machine enables us to create perforated wood surfaces. These surfaces, due to lack of material, are flexible, so wood can be curved.
That was our concept behind the design and the construction of the specific perforated lamp. Through the perforated surface, light is diffused in space, acting as secondary lighting. The size of the gaps, but also of the whole lamp contribute to its brightness.
The semicircular perforated surface was joined with a rectangular surface, which was fixed on the wall. Additionally, two semicircular taps were designed so as to stop the diffusion of light at the top and bottom part of the lamp, but also to hold the lamp into place.
The wood which was used is birch plywood, 6mm thick.
